April Book Wrap!

I managed to get this together before mid-month! Self-five! Of course, I’ve been terrible at keeping going with being sensible and consistent with my writing. In my heart of hearts, I imagine that one day, I’ll just wake up and find the writing fairies have fixed my broken plot. Unfortunately, I know that the only writing fairies are the ones that get my fingers ticking over the keyboard, and for most of the last month, they’ve been hand-finishing seams on a beautiful skirt that’s so bloody nearly done and I won’t have nearly the same kind of excuses. This time next month, I’ll have a writing update too, okay?

For now, you’re stuck with a video about the books I read and mostly loved.

Books I finished in April:

  • The Book of Life by Deborah Harkness
  • Tremarnock by Emma Burstall
  • The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton
  • Court of the Grandchildren by Michael Muntisov and Greg Findlayson

At the end of April, I was up to 19/50 on my Goodreads challenge. So, 38% there, a quarter of the way through the year. I count that as a reasonable success, because there’s a bit of wiggle room, and I’m two books up from where I definitely need to be.

Books I’m currently reading: Royal Assassin by Robin Hob (yes, still. shoooosh); At Home: A Short History of Private Life by Bill Bryson and Fragile Things by Neil Gaiman. One per medium at the moment.
